APP101 is a 2 year USDOL Apprenticeship concept, intended for a fulltime employee that will be a part-time college student in hands-on courses. Currently, apprenticeships being offered in the 13-county Georgia Mountains WorkSource Region include:
Industrial Maintenance Tech (aka Mechatronics): Mechanical, Fluids, Pneumatics, Electrical and Control systems for standardand PLC, and other support processes
CNC Machinist: Metalworking, Programming and set up of CNC Milland Lathe, Blueprint reading, precision measuring, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), CAD/CAM programming and other support processes
General Machinist: Manual machining, lathes, mills, grinding, Metalworking blueprint reading, precision measuring, GDT and other support processes
Welder/Fabricator: Mechanical drawings, layout, measurement, metal cutting, shearing, bending, welding processes (stick, mig and tig)
Quality Technician: principals and practices, quality systems, product and process, planning, process control (SPC), measurement, gage calibration, R&R, capability study, lean manufacturing, problem solving processes, and safety. Will include a focus on interpersonal, professional, and presentation skills as well as Quality analytics utilizing Excel.
